Chelsi Peter Boone High School Newspaper/Online view Chelsi's video Hi! My name is Chelsi Peter and I am thrilled to be running for the Student District 3 Representative. To give you an insight about myself, I am currently in 11th grade at Boone High School and I love being active in my school’s activities and sports. I’ve been on my school’s varsity swim team since freshman year. Academically I am part of the Law Magnet as well. Some of the activities I participate at school include: Key Club, Best Buddies, Baking Braves, NSHSS(which is formally known as The National Society of High School Scholars) and NHS. I love giving back to my school and community especially through volunteering at Teen Court and making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for those in need with Key Club. One of my favorite activities at school I am in is being part of my schools newspaper. On staff, I’ve been able to work with last year’s Journalist of the Year Jack Rummler, who has taught me so much whether it was working together on staff as a team and helping me improve my journalism skills. I have always had a passion for journalism, and my experience with being on staff last year, has led me to my position as Junior Editor-in-Chief this year. |

There is no doubt in my mind that I can make this an amazing year for everyone at FSPA. I have a strong passion for journalism, and love to express my opinion through writing and filming. To give you some perspective, I am currently in my second year of publications at West Shore Jr. Sr. high school and part of the newspaper/magazine and broadcasting staff. I have matured my mindset into thinking about what will resonate with a target audience, and strive to sharpen my skills as a journalist every chance I get. Additionally, I’m active in and outside of school and love to help my community. In school, I am part of Spanish Honor Society, Key club, Thespians, Health Occupation Student Administration, English Honor Society, and Quill and Scroll Honors Society. I also have played Tennis for more than 5 years, and been a part of the varsity tennis team since eighth grade. I dedicate myself to my community by volunteering at local hospitals and animal rescue/clinics, and love volunteering through Beta Club to help plan and organize Relay For Life. I am so excited to be apart of this years choice of representatives, and can’t wait to see everyone at the state convention. |
Cheyenne Smith Four Corners Upper School Yearbook view Cheyenne's video Salutations, fellow journalists! I’m Cheyenne Smith. I have been attending Four Corners Charter School since first grade and now attend Four Corners Upper School. I have worked as Vice President of our school’s Model United Nations, Vice president of NJHS, and now editor of the FCUS Pawprint for two years. I have been part of Pawprint (yearbook) staff since its creation in 2014 with our advisor Joseph Winters. I have been described as the “Mom of yearbook” and try to look out for everyone to the best of my ability. A little about me is I am an avid cosplayer at Orlando and Tampa conventions such as Megacon . I’m not a very good artist but I enjoy drawing stick figures quite often. My favorite place to eat is Jersey Mike’s so if you ever want to bring me a sandwich, I like the Italian sub. Biking and running are my two favorite sports; i ran cross country when it was offered at my school. To commemorate the completion of our yearbook, we celebrate Pawsgiving. We bring in food and play our own variation of Apples to Apples with our own cards. I try to put my best effort in anything do such as cosplaying and especially the yearbook. Yearbook has given me a home and a family that I can rely on. My biggest joy is making people feel they have a purpose in the yearbook and in the community. I want people to have fun and laugh while they are learning. I meet new members every year, so to see how far they’ve come and what they have learned is the best feeling: I feel as if I have made a difference in their lives and I hope I can do that to yours. I hope to represent you all and give you the best District Workshop and State Convention you’ve ever experienced. Check me out on my Instagram @Bumblechey to see what I’m up to! Thank you for bringing me to where I am today. Now, see ya later alligator. |
